Voting terms

The voting platform forms part of a later phase of Her Biz Makeover. Until it launches, no votes can be cast and no charges apply.

When voting opens, a complete and binding version of these terms will replace this outline. Where the two differ, the published version at the time of voting governs.

Voting will be open to members of the public. Voters may be required to verify a phone number or email address before a vote is counted.

Applicants, their employees and immediate family may vote, but coordinated activity designed to inflate a score artificially will be treated as manipulation.

Public votes will form one component of a combined score alongside independent panel assessment. The weighting between the two will be published before the voting window opens.

Vote limits per person, per day and per business will be stated in the final terms.

Voting windows will open and close at stated times. Votes recorded outside a window will not count.

We will operate technical controls to detect automated voting, duplicated identities, bulk purchasing patterns and other manipulation.

Where manipulation is detected, we may discount affected votes, suspend voting on a profile, or disqualify a participant. Decisions in relation to suspected manipulation are made at our discretion and are final.

Attempting to interfere with the voting system may also be reported to the relevant authorities.

If paid voting is introduced, the price per vote, the payment methods accepted, the payment processor used, and how proceeds are applied will be stated clearly before any charge is made.

Paid votes, once cast, will not be refundable except where required by law or where a technical fault prevented the vote from being recorded.

Applying to the programme will remain free regardless of any voting charges.

Information collected during voting, including any verification details, will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act.

We may amend the voting mechanics before voting opens. Material changes will be published on this page.
