Her Biz Makeover

These terms govern your use of this website and your participation in the Her Biz Makeover programme.

Acceptance

By accessing this website or submitting an application, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site or apply to the programme.

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Eligibility to apply

Applications are open to woman-owned or woman-led businesses that are registered and actively trading in Nigeria, with at least six months of trading history and a product or service currently generating revenue.

You confirm that the information you submit is accurate and that you have the authority to submit it on behalf of the business. We may verify any statement made in an application and may disqualify an application containing material inaccuracies.

Selection decisions at every stage are made at the discretion of Her Biz Makeover and its assessment panel, and are final.

Conduct

Participants are expected to behave respectfully towards other participants, mentors, faculty, partners and staff, both online and at physical events.

Harassment, discrimination, misrepresentation, attempts to manipulate voting or assessment, and any conduct that brings the programme into disrepute may result in removal without notice and without compensation.

Intellectual property in submitted content

You retain ownership of the intellectual property in the pitch videos, images, text and other materials you submit.

By submitting content, you grant Her Biz Makeover a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, edit for length or format, publish and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the programme, including on the showcase microsite, in partner and media channels and in programme reporting.

You confirm that you own or have the rights to all material you submit, including any music, imagery or footage featuring other people, and that publication will not infringe anyone else's rights.

You may ask us to withdraw published content. We will act on such a request within a reasonable period, though copies distributed to third-party media may remain outside our control.

Our intellectual property

The Her Biz Makeover name, the Brace to Scale mark, the website design, written content and programme materials are owned by or licensed to us. You may not reproduce or reuse them commercially without written permission.

Use of the website

You agree not to interfere with the operation of the site, attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape data at scale, upload malicious code, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the site at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Costs

Applying to the programme is free. Participation in the accelerator and bootcamp is free to selected participants. Any costs that are not covered, for example personal travel arrangements, will be communicated in advance.

Where a voting platform introduces charges in a future phase, those charges will be set out in the Voting Terms before voting opens.

Third-party content and links

This site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices, and a link does not imply endorsement.

Disclaimers and liability

The programme provides training, mentorship and visibility. It does not provide financial, legal, tax or investment advice, and nothing published on this site should be relied on as such. You remain responsible for decisions taken in your business.

The website and its content are provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data arising from use of the site or participation in the programme.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
